Congratulations to Jacob Ames for winning our school geography bee! Campbell Whitener is our first runner up. Jacob is a fourth grade student and Campbell is in the third grade. Jacob will move on to compete in the regional geography Bee. We are extremely proud of both of them.

Congratulations to third grade teacher Mary Varley! Ms. Varley won the Marybeth Childer's Award at Furman Univeristy. The Childer's Award is presented to one elementary and one secondary teacher each year for demonstrating a love for teaching, a love for students and a love for content. Way to go Mrs. Varley!

Mrs. Jennifer Pitman named Earth Science Teacher of the Year

On Friday, November 6, Mrs. Jennifer Pitman was honored with the title of Outstanding Earth Science Teacher of the Year by the National Association of Geoscience for the Southeastern area. Mrs. Pitman taught fifth grade science at AMES last year and now serves our children as the horizon's teacher. We are so proud of Mrs. Pitman!

AMES Wins First Place in the First Tee Challenge

On Friday, October 9th our First Tee Golf Challenge team brought home the First Place trophy! Team members are Coleman Huckabee, Ansley Woodson, Mitchell Powell, and Campbell Whitener. The challenge included golf skills and knowledge of the Nine Core Values of the First Tee program. Our team demonstrated good skills and exemplified the core values. Students from thirty-one schools participated. Our team represented Anderson Mill well!

Parents! This year’s main fundraiser is the Big World Recess – Boosterthon Fun Run! It’ll be a 9-day program where we kick off with a Pep Rally on October 12, 2015, families will have time to get pledges for every lap your student runs, and then we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run on October 21, 2015. Celebrate Your Reading All-Star

On Sunday, May 24th, the Greenville Drive will celebrate the Reading All-Stars from our school. Students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade who have read five books and turned in their All Star Reading Logs will receive a free ticket to the Greenville Drive Baseball game. The All Star Reading Logs are to be turned in to your child's teacher by Friday, March 27, 2015. At the game, students will be given a free Reading All -Star T-shirt and participate in a pregame Parade of Champions around Fluor Field
